About 43 - Tripura Sundari Shakti Peeth
The Tripura Sundari Temple, also known as Matabari, is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Tripura Sundari, located in the city of Udaipur, Tripura. This temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, where it is believed that Goddess Sati’s right foot fell. The temple is set on a hillock resembling the shape of a tortoise (Kurma), and this site is also referred to as Kurma Pith.
The Tripura Sundari Temple is over 500 years old, making it the oldest temple in Udaipur. It is managed by the state government under the Tripura Merger Agreement, and the Mata Tripura Sundari Trust oversees its future development. Adjacent to the temple is the Kalyan Sagar Lake, which was created 124 years after the temple’s establishment. The lake is home to various aquatic species, including large tortoises, which visitors often feed as part of the temple’s sacred rituals. The fountain at the center of the lake adds to its beauty and spiritual significance.
त्रिपुरा सुंदरी मंदिर, जिसे माता बारी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, एक प्राचीन हिन्दू मंदिर है जो देवी त्रिपुरा सुंदरी को समर्पित है। यह मंदिर उधयपुर, त्रिपुरा में स्थित है और भारत के 51 शक्ति पीठों में से एक है, जहाँ यह माना जाता है कि देवी सती का दाहिना पैर यहाँ गिरा था। मंदिर एक पहाड़ी पर स्थित है, जिसका आकार कछुए (कूर्म) की पीठ जैसा है, और इसे कूर्म पीठ भी कहा जाता है।
यह मंदिर लगभग 500 वर्ष पुराना है, जिससे यह उधयपुर का सबसे पुराना मंदिर बनता है। इसे राज्य सरकार द्वारा त्रिपुरा मर्जर एग्रीमेंट के तहत संचालित किया जाता है, और इसके भविष्य के विकास के लिए माता त्रिपुरा सुंदरी ट्रस्ट का गठन किया गया है। मंदिर के पास स्थित कल्याण सागर झील, जो मंदिर के स्थापना के 124 वर्ष बाद बनाई गई थी, में विभिन्न जलजीव रहते हैं, जिनमें बड़े कछुए भी शामिल हैं जिन्हें भक्त मंदिर में आकर भोजन देते हैं। झील में स्थित फव्वारा इसे और भी सुंदर और आध्यात्मिक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण बनाता है।
