About Shree Chintamani Vinayaka
The Theur temple, a significant site in the Ashtavinayak circuit, is commonly visited after Morgaon due to its convenient location. It is associated with legends, including Gana's defeat by Ganesha and the granting of the Chintamani gem to Sage Kapila. Ganesha, known here as Chintamani, is also believed to have helped Brahma and Indra, blessing the location with tranquility. Built by Ganapatya saint Morya Gosavi or his descendant, the temple's origins are ancient but its exact date is unknown. The Peshwa rulers, particularly Madhavrao I, patronized and renovated it. Chimaji Appa gifted a European bell acquired as war booty. The temple is now managed by the Chinchwad Devasthan Trust.
थेरू मंदिर, अष्टविनायक यात्रा का एक प्रमुख स्थल है, जिसे आमतौर पर मोरगांव के बाद इसके सुविधाजनक स्थान के कारण देखा जाता है। यह मंदिर अनेक कथाओं से जुड़ा है, जैसे गणेश द्वारा गणा की पराजय और ऋषि कपिला को चिंतामणि रत्न का आशीर्वाद। यहाँ गणेश को चिंतामणि कहा जाता है, जिन्होंने ब्रह्मा और इंद्र को शांति का वरदान दिया। गणपत्य संत मोरया गोसावी या उनके वंशज द्वारा निर्मित, इस मंदिर की सटीक तिथि अज्ञात है। पेशवा शासकों, विशेषकर माधवराव प्रथम, ने इसे संरक्षण और जीर्णोद्धार किया। चिमाजी आप्पा ने पुर्तगाली युद्ध विजय से प्राप्त एक यूरोपीय घंटा भेंट किया। वर्तमान में यह मंदिर चिंचवड़ देवस्थान ट्रस्ट द्वारा संचालित है।
